The story of computing is written in its artifacts, in the organizations in which they were birthed, and particularly in the people who shaped them.
Many of computing's significant artifacts may be found in museums around the world. Over a number of years I wrote the column "On Computing" for the IEEE Computer Society, wherein I explored the themes associated with Computing. To inform my understanding of the stories of computing, I have collected and studied a multitude of books, here organized according the places where computing and the human experience intersect.
